During my work as a researcher and research associate with the Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ) in South Africa, I have worked on a number of different research reports, policy proposals and podcasts. Some of these are linked below:
Work on expanding social protection in South Africa
I have been involved in the IEJ’s advocacy work around the retention and expansion of the COVID-19 Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. Podcast Series on Economics and Human Rights [link]
I conceptualised, scripted, directed and hosted a 5-part podcast series for the IEJ. This series tells the story of the development South Africa’s post-apartheid Constitution and its socio-economic rights-based framework and discusses the limitations of current engagements with the country’s macroeconomic policy trajectory and ways we could change this.
